Piecing together a lift
I found some factory upcountry leafs and coils from someone. The leafs still had decent arch so im jumping on them cause mine are shot now. So im guessing ill get the 1 inch lift from that pack, then use the main leaf on my current pack as a AAL to lift more. Would you guys recommend buying the coils for the extra inch and then adding spacers or just buying spacers to match the rear lift height? Im gonna use some JK shocks that ive got already so im willing to go to 3 inches.

Why don't you just get some s10 packs and buy some new coils for 100$ from rustys or something? You've got the longer shocks and just get some JY lines and you should be set with a pretty decent lift

Those leaves are at least 12 years old since the XJ went out of production in 01 so I doubt you'd get anywhere near the inch they gave when new. If you're looking for a cheap lift look up bastard packs and get new coils, they can be had for around $100 and you'll know what you're getting. I run Rusty's and they've worked great for me.

I guess if your dead set on being cheap about it a bastard pack will be your I only option, pickup new coils, and run your jk shocks.
I'd say just hold out though and spend a bit more on a cheap 3 inch lift kit

I'd rather go the cheap way. Just seems like it would be easier for me to do. Plus I have 30s right now that have a little over half the tread left. Saves me money to move to some 31s later. You guys think a 2.5 to 3 inch lift will look ok running the 30s?

I was forced to run 30s on a 4.5" RE lift in my last jeep. Ran em for about a month and a half while I saved for bigger tires. Didnt look too ridiculous.
