Yesterday I went to go get parts and after telling the clerk what I needed his first question was "the grand or the little one" I simply said "neither" and walked out...... I guess i'm going to advance from now one.

You should try it from the other side of the counter! Any idea how many idiots we have to put up with? What was the part you were looking for anyway--it may have made a differnce.

I told a guy i needed a part for my Jeep and he said "Wrangler?" I said no, the Cherokee. He then said "Oh the van, what pieces of crap"
I then left and bought my $200 part somewhere else

I worked behind the counter at NAPA for several months. I had several customers come in looking for parts for their Cherokee. I thought it was kind of funny when I would ask "is it an XJ"? One guy said "no, I just told you it is a Cherokee"

Keep in mind, the person on the other side of the counter may not be a car person. To them, it's just a job. I either do what 96_XJ does and have a part number ready, or tell them "90/95 Jeep Cherokee, downsized Cherokee, XJ 4 Door wagon... whatever your computer calls it." Not being insulting, those are the most conman descriptions for XJs in parts catalogs.

Its like when you go the lowes for home depot a lot of employees don't know much in their work area they just punch it into the computer and look it up ask you a few questions. I'm lucky the o reilly by my house is really good
