Over the past couple years my rear leafs have settled. Tire to flare in front is 7 1/4" when the rear is 5 1/2". Is it noticeable? If so, what would you do?

I have some concerns but will voice them after some opinions.

Thanks

Id guess your running the 4.5" rustys packs and stock shackles?

Get some shackle relocation brackets (which will add a bit of lift)..
Or some boomerang shackles.

x2 on new shackles. I'd say that it is noticeable in the first pic. Nice rig by the way, really digging the clean look.

But that won't fix a sagging leaf, nothing will.

Once they start they will get worse, and worse....and worse.

Best fix is new leafs.

I have thought of both, was hoping not to the route of new springs, but I know I would ultimately need them. I figured some shackles would raise it up an inch or two and get me through the next couple years. But if shackles won't lift it then the only step would be new leafs.

Does anyone recommend a brand? Besides Rustys bc that's what I have now

Dont replace your leafs..

Just get a shackle or relocation brackets.

Yours arent shot yet.. plus, a flatter pack will flex better.
DO not waste money on an AAL.

Impossible to predict and yes it will fit.

You'll need replacement centering pins and new u-bolts as well.

I think your rear looks fine. At first glance I thought it was sagging more than it should, then realized the picture was taken on a slight incline. I assume thats how it was sitting also when you measured the gap, tire top to flare.

In all honesty, your leafs are probably pretty close to the advertised lift height and are only "sagging" because they are broken in. Take some pics with it sitting on a level surface and let us see how it sits that way. Regardless, you do NOT need new leafs or AAL's. If it bothers you get a 1" extended shackle and be done with it. Those leafs are are far from needing replaced.

If its an incline, it's hardly noticeable. I will try and find a better spot and upload some later. I have heard bad things in the past about AAL's. just wondering if anyone had experience with them

I'm sure the OP does the difference between Settling and sagging.

Then it might be camera angle. On my screen, measuring from the bottom of the picture to the bottom of each of your tires results in a .5mm drop, front to rear. Measuring from the top of the picture to the roof results in only a .2mm drop, front to rear.

Its not exact, but shows that either the jeep or the camera is on an angle. Regardless, these rough measurements would lead me to believe your XJ is sitting pretty close to level. It looks in the picture (and probably real life) as though the rear is squatting because the rear wheel well is not as large or high as the front.

The front well sits 1/2" higher in the front on a stock jeep to begin with, so based on your numbers at worst your rear is about 1/2" low. I'd say thats a symptom of settling more so than sagging. Again, I think it looks about how it should, but if it bothers you put a 1" lift shackle on it.
