Well that sounds simple enough. New transmission and away you go. Time to make a trip to the you-pull-it junkyard!

as far as I know, all AX-15s are the same. but, i'm not sure if you would run into a problem with the output spline count, but i doubt it.
Edit. checked it, all 97+ will work.

So I was able to pick up a transmission from another 97 from a junkyard today, had never been to this place before and will never be back. Had called ahead and asked for the transmission so they had it pulled already, got there, and they took it upon themselves to open the hatch on my other jeep and throw this thing in. They did not drain the trans fluid so I got about 10 qts of fluid all over the back of my Jeep. I was not pleased.

Thanks for allowing me to ramble a bit, anyway I was planning on having the transmission installed by someone else, but now I'm thinking I may be able to tackle this. What is exaclty involved? Should I just get this installed somewhere? Pictures would be awsome if possible.

Thanks Guys,

Matt
