Default ok newbie needing tranfer case help

ok i have an 87 jeep cherokee xj base. we put a 95 i6 ho swap in it ax15 manuel transmission. but it still has a 231 AMC TRANSEF CASE WHICH IS ALL VACCUM RAN, WHICH IS THE PROBLEM. i need to know if there is anyway or cheap way to rebuild it so the my motor harness will click right in i believe its the speed sensor and the shift module for the tcase(shift lights also). id even be willing to by a new one but every place ive called is asking 900 plus for used here where i live. but i am also searching for a 92-96 np231j electric and that would fix my problem also i beileve. but just remeber im stilll a newbie at all of this so please if anyone could help it would be greatly appriciated....................................... .................................................. ................................please help

The transfer case is not RUN by vacuum. It's shifted with a lever. The transfer case has some vacuum switch crap to engage the front acle. That can be bypassed easily.

Are you running the 87 fuel injection or the 96?
