When my front sway bar link broke I drove it around until my discos came in. Essentially I didn't have a sway bar
Granted I only have a 2" lift the difference is absolutely there. With a sway bar the road manners is 1,000,000 times better then without.

Love them. I got the teraflex ones. I use them enough I don't have to worry much but I make sure to disconnect them and grease the bushing and fittings often so they don't get stuck.
The only gripe is the way the grease fitting is on the top bushing can't grease it if they are connected.

I had worn out links and bushings for about a year, when i upgraded i got the RC quick discos and new bushings they did there job but then one day at the trail i could get the discos back together (it was very cold and i bent the bottom bracket so they wouldn't line up) drove it home with out them and didn't hook them back up cause it was just like driving with worn out stock parts, I am only at 3" lift and 30" tires if you got a big lift and tire combo i would suggest links cause on my 3" i can feel the body roll changing lanes and on turns

I have no swaybars on my XJ, which is my DD with a 4.5in lift & 33in tires on it and it rides and does everything else it was made for fine, like loaded with cargo, or pulling other vehicles on a car-dolly down the highway at speed.
Recently tested......unintentionally...
I can even swerve around idiots, when they decide to pull out close in front of me, when doing 50mph.
It really depends on how good the driver is, and he/she knows what their vehicle is gonna do, before it does it, according to their actions.
The reason I also removed mine, was because I am on trails alot, to where even QD's would be a pain in the azz, always disconnecting and connecting.
Anyways, hope this helps

The only reason I don't have one is that I do not have axle mounts. The positioning of the tie rod makes clearance an issue with stock-style mounts, so I need something fabbed up and have not gotten around to having it done.

As most people would agree, there was no difference when ditching the rear. I have been DD-ing mine with no front sway bar since late 06, shortly after I got it. The bigger point of it is keeping body roll to a minimum on the road, so how much it effects your rig will depend on your springs all around and your top heaviness. I ran with a 2.5" lift and 31s for a while, and then a 6.5" on 33s and 35s since 2007 with no front sway, and fairly soft coils and am still alive.
As long as people know a lifted truck is NOT a racecar, they will be fine.
