I did 3 coats of VHT Niteshades on my tail lights. I tested my tails out and they seem a little dimmer than stock but not by much. I also have a very bright LED CHMSL mounted in the rear window.

I just wanted to know if you think I run the risk of getting pulled over for them. Is there anyone on here who has received a ticket for tail light tint?

I have 2 applications on my XJ right now...

I have 4 applications on my Camaro's tail lights but have never had any legality issues. However it will really depend on the officer looking at them. Just because I haven't doesn't mean I won't.

Mine look like that only a little lighter. Good to hear you aren't getting pulled over or anything.

Check MI's vehicle codes. They should have a section that discusses lighting, tinting, etc. Good place to find out whether it's legal or not.

I did the corner markers on my '96 a few weeks back. Pulled up next to the fuzz at night a few days ago and all I got was a thumbs up. Guess it depends on the officer.

What you mean LED? and how'd you install them?

Getting to your question.... I did the samething with family who is an LEO. He said that it is up to the discretion of the LEO. Most of the times you'll just get a fix it ticket. For instance, you have to pay a $90 fee of you fix them (ie get new ones) or pay $200 to not fix them.

Wow, I like how yours came out! I've been thinking about tinting mine or just painting the amber in the back.. my Jeep is about the same color as yours lol.

I have an LED strip that I mounted in the rear window where the stock CHMSL was. I used electrical crimp connectors to tap into the stock CHMSL's 12v source.

Yeah odds are if I am ever pulled over it'll be a fix it ticket.
