Looking at buying a 1999 xj, SE. This SE looks to have lots of options, like AC, cruise, tilt, power locks and windows, ect... To my understanding the SE is the low end model correct? It's also the 6cyl, auto with the 8.25 rear end. So what's the benifit to a sport or limited? Oh, and it only has 105k miles!! Going to look at it this week! super clean, super stock. Waiting for me to dump $$$ into..

Sounds great man! I dont know if youll have roof rails, but if you do then its no different. Just got an SE for my buddys dad, fixin it up for him, and it has no rails and no power windows so whay you have sounds great.

His also doesnt have those long black plastic things down the side.

 

the differences between SE's, Sport's, Classic's, and Limited's, were simply appearance stuff (painted caps, flares, door trim) and interior stuff (Limited's had the most "standard" stuff - fake wood center stack plating, leather seats, etc), and that SE's came with 215 tires, where as the rest came with 225's.

Look at the dash, I know on my buddy's SE it only has dummy lights instead of gauges, I can't stand that.

I have no idea what model mine is and I have it. I know it's not an LE though
