transmission problems
hay guys im new here and to jeeps but i have some questions for ya i have a 93 jeep country with the 4.0 in it 4x4 runs a drives great the only problem i have is it will not shift by itself i have to shift it its an auto someone told me there was a box that had to be replaced under the dash to fix it i dont belive him i think its a valve or something of that sort any ideas of what it could be thank u in advance

Try flushing the transmission fluid first.
That probably won't fix it, in which case it needs rebuilt.

You mean you have to manually select your gears 1-4 It won't shift at all?
It just hits the limiter until you do it yourself?

Have a transmission shop check it out before you spend any money on junkyard transmissions and tranny flushes. It could be something as simple as the throttle pressure cable being disconnected or out of adjustment.
