Uh, did you pull hard enough on the lever? Idk I mean mine used to have to be kind of jerked back to open the hood, until it loosened up through use

My girlfriend had the same issue. You had to literally jerk on the hood pull handle. If and when you do get it open, grease the crap out of the hinge

I have pulled on it,jerked it and even used a hefty screw driver to pry on the handle but the hood does not want to pop up. Oh and I forgot to mention that it has been sitting for a little while so it could mean rust. Not sure right now though
