Default New muffler?

Hey everyone I was planning to make my xj sound a little more beefier ever since I got flares for it. I was going to go with the super 40 series and then I hear all this talk about super 44 and I'm sorta bent on which one I should go with. I'm looking for a deep throaty sound that can stand out to people when I start it up. If you got any other ideas let me know!

They're both nice mufflers.

My buddy runs a Thrush muffler and it sounds pretty good. You can also get a nice sound out of those cheap glasspacks.

I'll take my $19-something Thrush glasspack from Auto Zone. To my ears it sounds real good, not like a ricer and was much cheaper. Granted, I did buy it a couple of years ago but before tax, it cost less than $20 USD.

I'm not so much worried about the price at the moment as long as it would be under 200. I'm just not to sure the cheap glass packs would get the deep sound I want.

i listened to tons of youtube clips on the flowmasters and decided im gonna go with the super 40 as it seems to be deep, but not in as crackly a way as the 44 at idle/low rpm.

Well here's my take on exhaust. I chopped my muffler and routed it from the cat out the side. Then every trip I knocked one more piece of it off. Now I am running it straight off the headers. And people call it the "rat rod" meanest sounding exhaust you will get my man.

Up north here the black n blue don't take to kindly to loud mud trucks. People get nabbed nearly everyday up here but either than that I would be ripping out right now!

I hate loud in the mountains and forests or on trails period, some ok on the street like my hot rods or loud at the race track. Then I run a Dr. Gas X-Pipe with SpinTec mufflers for the Outlaw Street Class on Drag Radials.

Jeeps ....... quiet for sneek'in up on things

Everyone wishes their ride was just a little intimidating at one point in time! It may not be for the same reasons but for me I know I can't stand the stock exhaust system any more especially all my buddy's got jacked up super strokes.
