Default "New" 87 jeep Cherokee pioneer

I wish to purchase a jeep Cherokee for my daughters first vehicle. I've found a 99 with 148k for 2800 and an 87 with 207k for 995. Both are in immaculate condition. Just want to hear about them both please

More info and links (if available) will get you more definitive answers. As it is, you haven't given anyone much to go on.

I'm partial to the 87 era Jeeps.

I like the older ones myself too, but to buy one for my child's first car, go for the '99. That model has better brakes and a driver's side airbag compared to the '87. Those 2 items alone would make the decision.

If both are 4.0s i would go 99 its odb2 and it has air bags. With the 87 being as cheap as it is you could buy it as a extra car maybe.

x2. That's cheap prices, buy both, one for yourself and one for the kid.

You'd be crazy to pass up the 87 for $995 if its really in immaculate condition. The 99 sounds fairly priced but the 87 would be a steal.

I purchased a Grandmas Jeep. its a 1997 with 106k miles no dents or scratches and the paint isnt faded. thanks for your help. it leaks atf but not bad and the drivers window needs a regulator. Strangely it doesnt leak motor oil like the rest of the ones I've looked at.

Old trick, take it to a truck washing station and have them hose it with degreaser and rinse it off, makes any 4.0 look new again, also helps to find where your leak is coming from.
