Default Nerf Bars and Rock Crawlers Simultaneously ?????

This is actually my first post on this site.
Here's the situation. I've been doing many upgrades to my 98 XJ Classic.

One of the items that I'd just received was a set of Nerf Bars. I'm not sure if I did the right thing ordering them. After the 4.5" Lift and putting on 32 MT's. Nerf Bars were thought to be for me ideal to make it easier for the lady and others to get in the vehicle. I sort of like it now.

In retrospect, it seems that a pair of Rock Crawlers (besides the protection use) may have served the purpose to also be used as Nerf Bars (Step Rails). If they could, then I feel like I have made the wrong choice in getting the nerf bars. The Nerf Bars will of course serve the purpose for my quick hasty decision to make it easier to get in the Jeep. I realize that starting to "wheel" more often that I need to emphasize protection. So this leads me to ask you fellow Jeepers....

What degree of protection can the Nerf bars serve (besides using as step)?

Can I put on Rock Crawlers, in addition to the Nerf Bars (if so what kind, style, etc)??? Is this pairing at all common??

I'd return the Nerf Bars only they'd already been shipped to me.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Oh yeah, one more question. Other than the obvious difference of 3000lbs. Would a 9000lb. wench amply serve the purpose for most situations that I'd run into, compared to a 12000lb.??? I'd learned that bigger is not always better.

First thing first... rock sliders. Not rock crawlers.

Second nerf bars offer no protection and will cause more damage.

And third no you can't run both

Default thanks for the quick response!

That's a huge help. I'll try and return the Nerf Bars if I can. I like how those look and of course best of all: dual functionality with what of course is most important to me (Protection). It looks like Rock "Sliders" they will be.

9000lb wenches are more than ample. I try to keep them below about 150

A 9000lb will be fine! Try to get one with Synthetic cable on it.

Definitely return those. nerf bars suck, and they look terrible, too. Sorry.
