INFO: The cost of NAPA oil in my town right now is $2.99/qt. If I drive 13 miles to the next town, it is $1.99/qt. If you use NAPA oil, shop around.

 

NAPA stores are generally privately owned franchises, so the prices can vary wildly. I'm not sure driving an additional 26 miles would be worth saving $1 a quart though. If you were buying 6 quarts for your XJ and your XJ gets 14 or 15 MPG you've nearly offset the savings. If you have a WalMart near you, consider using their generic SuperTech instead.

 

With the MPG of most XJ's you spent the $6 you saved in gas getting there to find it.
I typically use Shell Rotella 15w40 in everything.
But I've used the Tech3 Wal-Mart Brand too, its $9.50 a gallon.

 

The only time I go to Napa, is if there is no othrer choice.

 

To respond to comments made since my original post: I purchased 4 cases of oil so I save $48.00. I went to 2 other places in the same town so I did not waste my time just going for oil. I get almost 20 MPG on the highway . Finally , I do not care what kind of oil you may use, my comment was for those who use the NAPA brand
