Default My shocks are shot

Hey everyone, I'm fairly new to the jeep world and I have a question about my shocks. I recently bought a 1998 jeep with 150,000 miles. Driving down the road I could feel most of the imperfections of the road rattle the jeep. Upon looking at the shocks I could tell they were stock and very rusted. I'm pretty sure it's the source of the problem.

Now my question is, is it my problem?

And if so which shocks should I get?

I do plan on lifting my jeep later on so would buying shocks and then buying a lift later on be a waste of money?

If you want to lift it I'd wait to put new shocks on it.

If your going to lift higher than 2" than yes you wont be able to reuse the shocks you buy.
You can get some cheapos for under $20 ea if ya cant make do untill you get the lift.
