i haven't done any regretable mods. but i do regret not doing mods and instead doing a less useful mod. like an h4 headlight conversion and flowmaster before getting front and rear recovery points.(luckily, not stuck badly enough to cause damage. i did the "pull gently on axle" menuever).

Same here, I would bet so still! I am a criminal for something I didn't do, fed equivalent of 2nd degree murder lmao.... Hey kids out there keep your cat on! Or be in an environmentally responsible enough area of the country that the EPA doesn't have to come to town, it's those irresponsible areas fault that there are inspections at all :P so us environmentally responsible guys "have" to pay the price. Anyways back on topic.

Thank you all! I have had an XJ for over eight years and there is always something to learn from on here.
so far my regrets are in order
1. DIY electric fan switch!! (I killed my ECU and ended up selling the jeep
2. Running a tire that had a huge hole in the sidewall, LOL. Had to put a semi size boot on it to seal it up. Ended up snaggin my front brake line and rippin it off in the middle of the freeway.
3. Quick disconnects that were too long! Well would have been fine if disconnected before wheeling, instead bent the crap out of the axle mounting point on one side and ripped the other one off.
4. Welding my damn exhaust manifold, damn thing just broke somewhere else.
5. Not replacing my wheel bearings before the tire started flopping around, took out all kinds of ****!
6. Really awesome looking crome front grill guard that only attached to the bumper, after a collision it killed both fenders that would have been fine otherwise.
7. Front reciever hitch, hitch was fine but not tied in all the way so bent to a 90* angle and hung up on stuff till bent back, LOL.
That is it for now will be more to come, LOL!

lets see....
walmart fog lights front and rear
"cai"
bedlining the lower sides....all that prep and it came right off
helper springs for towing...worked but made lots of noises when driving
cheap speakers
improper wiring... gotta wire it up right with relays and connectors...not electrical tape direct from the battery lol.
seafoam (had it kill two engines in the past, both chevy 350's caused them to blow gaskets.)
being impatient.

Super swamper tsl's. Damn things make more noise then anything i have ever heard. And im pretty sure they have vibrated every possible plastic piece inside the jeep loose to the point where everything makes noise now.
