Ya it turned off a couple weeks ago and scared me for a bit. I went to advance auto and asked for the code reader and they said "why did your check engine light come on?" I said no it turned off. He just looked at me with a stupid look and I said just give me the scanner.

Just talked to a micro-turbine tech guy at the place I'm at today...said his wife has an XJ and refuses to drive or buy anything else. And it's got 315k on it!

Turned 207k on my ride home today, 250 miles of towing 1800lbs of snowmobiles and gear through the mountains. And my 4.0L just kept singing along at 3000rpm the whole ride.

LED bulbs. Go to superbrightled.com. They are style 74 I believe for the dash and TC and gear selector. Easy to do just unscrew bunch of stuff. And I hope you 12mpg is with a lift and big tires. If not its tune up time

my 2001 xj has 164k! i bought it 2.5 years ago when it had 154k! lol
My 99 classic xj has 291k on the body and if the PO wasnt lying.....the new motor has 135k ish

My 89 hit 190,000 over the holidays. Had 185,000 when I bought her in April of '12. Any major things I should do when she hits the big 200,000? So far all she's had is a new alternator at 186 , a starter and rear brakes at 187 and most recent was a new booster and master at 189. Otherwise just the basic maintenance.

Im at 248k, was trying to get to 250k last year but didnt make it. Btw, i bought this thing with 211k late september 2011. Average person drives 10k-15k a year... I more than doubled the average and i work at home...
