I traded my full size 88 Sierra pickup with 265k strait up for my 94 Cherokee Sport with 197k

Kid got it from his uncle and was trying to take care of it, but wasnt really a "car guy" since my truck paid for itself a couple of times already, I had nothing to lose.. but this little jeep hasnt seen much road the last few years and I drive 100 miles a day. I got newer tires and fixed the brakes all around... a few sensors and a few trim parts... sigh on the hottest day this summer the fan clutch died and overheated just a month after I got it... blew the head gasket

But Black Betty has what me and my wife want so I got lucky and found a brand new "used" head on craigslist and replaced the water pump, gave it a tune up and she runs better than ever...

Next repairs will be shocks all around, new exhaust and header, find out why 4x4 was disconnected and finally new rocker panels and pans (found a great body guy in town)

Alot more than most would do to this old ride, but this little jeep is special... this is my wife and me's first car thats "ours".. Its a 2-door with all the right options and the AC works!!!! Not easy to find on a 20 year old car in Ohio... oh yeah, 201,000 miles... I put roughly 3k on a car Iin a month so it will be adding up quick

Update on Black Betty, she had hidden rust that I had to deem time to put her out to pasture. Leaf spring broke and the uniframe was twisting and unsafe. I still have her and am in the process of putting everything I can into my new Jeep, which is Black Betty's doppelganger a 95 2-door XJ Sport in white, which my wife has named Betty White.

This new jeep has had many updates added to her, including half the parts from my old jeep and runs great, less rust and more options on original motor 240K and growing. Sad to lose my old one but I'm just as fond as this new girl and if all goes my old Black Betty will become a mudder truck or for a new owner

New truck has new red tailgate now complete with factory bumper mounted spare tire carrier

The day I found Betty White... I rescued her from being sent to the scrapyard. Also known as Christine she is the truck that connot be killed...

So far Ive cleaned up the black, new Laredo seats, exhaust from cat back wheels and tires from my old jeep, tailgate and a dozen little odds and ends to clean her up. Still needs a tune up exhaust manifold, shocks and leafsprings.

Took these today. She still needs work, but every thing I do to Betty White makes her that much better

Black Betty is under the car cover. So much of her is in this new truck. Many would have kept her old tailgate but this one has all the hookup for the tire carrier and i gained working wiper/defroster/tinted window

I have a 97 2 door 4wd aw4. just rolled over 194k miles. I bought it in Jan of 13 with 129k on it. no major repairs to speak of this far. maintenance items only. it runs as good or better now than when I got it. I did a ~2.5" AAL and pucks in the fall of 14. I swapped out a lot of the interior bc it was owned by a correctional facility, i.e. lots of holes in the console and dash. I love it. does everything I want and does it well.

I have 273,000 miles and still kick'n. My Wife keeps asking if I want something newer, and I tell her that I'm running this till it wont run any more and it keeps on running.

Make me happy to know others are running with similar mileage! Currently at 268,320. I put a lot of miles on it as I drive back and forth from college to my home nearly every weekend. (125 miles one way not including driving to work or seeing friends while in town) been a trooper so far, i think if I fix the leaks it has it will go for 300,xxx+!

My 98 has 194,000 miles, 51,000 are mine. Only general maintenance thus far. Does anyone have high milage pride stickers like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/231442945330?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I might have to get one if my jeep makes the 200,000 mark.

My 94 is just a baby with 129,000 miles. I had to replace lots of seals and gaskets when I got it to stop all the leaks. Also a fuel pump. Since then it has been a good runner. Only 10,000 of the miles are mine in my year of ownership.
