2001 sport 4x4 with 127,831. Had to get a new evap, otherwise no other major repairs. I bought it from my brother in law with 124,500 and he bought it from the dealer with 24,000. He said he didn't do any major work to it just oil changes. So far I've replaced the transmission fluid and filter and ran a cleaner and flush through the radiator and put fresh 50/50 in it. With a mix of city/hwy driving I average 16.5. This last tank was mostly city and I averaged 14.5. How people on here are saying they are getting 18-20 is beyond me. I don't gun it or anything. It's completely stock too running 235's.

not my XJ, but I saw this old beat up stock pre-97 the other day and it had a bumper sticker that looked like an odometer saying 250,000.1...and that looked like an old sticker, my guess would be that it's around 300k now. Gotta love XJs!

'93 base model with the 4.0 and automatic. Currently about to roll over 209,000. She's my daily driver, does almost 500 miles a week back and forth between Maryland and New Jersey. In the seven months I've had her now, I'm put on almost 20,000 miles with barely a hitch.
The Jeep had not been treated well by the previous SEVEN owners. CarFax informs me that the Jeep was in a major accident while still at the dealership! Not to count the various other accidents it endured while it was actually owned by whoever owned it.
First thing I did upon getting it was to change all the fluids (except the trans fluid, because that scares me). Started using a synthetic blend oil, trying my best to keep up with regular changes. So far, though, the only major repairs I've done are to replace the water pump, thermostat, thermostat housing, fan clutch and radiator hoses, but these didn't actually NEED to be replaced, I just wanted to do it when I got the car new as a pre-emptive strike. Also replaced the rear wheel bearings and, just last week, replaced the entire brake system: new pads, calipers, lines, rotors, shoes, drums and master cylinder. The carrier bearings in my rear differential have been making the same noise for the past 10,000 miles; it doesn't get better and it doesn't get worse. The one mechanic that I trust has informed me that the rear end will far outlast the engine, but at the rate this thing is going, I'm not so sure about that because the thing runs like a champ. So far, it has been one of the smoothest running vehicles I've ever owned.
I'd realistically be happy just to make 250,000, but seeing everyone else here, I have higher hopes that I could even manage to eke out 300,000. I guess only time'll tell, though.

I remember I had a flat tire one time, didn't have my patch kit but had my compressor. Filled my tire up and went to a repair shop, told the guy I had a flat tire and which one it was, and he looked at me like an alien. Sure enough he saw where the screw was and scratched his head.
