Might be back in the XJ world .
Like the title says I may be purchasing another XJ for the first time in 3 years or so . Didn’t think I’d be here again , but I always come back to the XJ. I could do something a lot fancier or more expensive but have no desire . It is a 91 XJ with 175k clean as a whistle . Looks like grandma drove it and is a Laredo with all the fancy options . Intentions are a heavily capable but streetable rig that can drive to MOAB conquer the trails and drive home 
I will likely fly out and drive her back to the rust belt 10 hours on the day of purchase . Hopefully this goes better than my Dallas trip two weeks ago .

I’m sure hoping so . I told myself after the issues with my previous XJ I wouldn’t fight one again because I had so many little issues pop up . But, now that I’m in a position where the XJ can be a hobby/extra vehicle not something I have to have 100 percent all the time , it seems more feasible .

Now besides the fact that I've always loved the militaristic boxy, no nonsense styling, old school solid front and rear axles and other things about the XJ in general..
I've had many vehicles over the span of my life. I've built fast custom street cars, motorcycles, 4x4's of several varieties...etc... And I've liked them all in their own way when I had them....
but for some strange reason, it would actually give me pangs at the thought of selling this 23 year old Jeep. Sure she's needed some parts over the years, but what vehicle doesn't? and it's old-school enough that you don't need a whole lot of super specialised tools to work on it yourself. And the parts are generally pretty cheap compared to say Toyota 4x4's I've had in the past.
My wife wants us to get a truck... and it makes sense...but I just can't bare the thought of selling the XJ..
