Make an xj more agressive looking
Hey, I've been seein a lot of nice xj's around lately and mine is pretty much stock. What are some simple things you can do for a more aggressive look. I know, lift, wheels and tires, lights... Etc. but what are some cheap things I can do to make my jeep look more aggressive? I started with a rusty ol xj, that's fixed, now I've got stainless steel bedlined floors. Underneath the truck still needs some attention though (rust). But I've done all the work myself to her, and now I have a good, solid foundation for some cool mods. I'll post some pics

Hey sorry for all the pics. I've done way more than this to my xj but I don't take pictures of everything.... Haha thanks. What do you think of my XJ? Let me know if you have anything to say, thanks!

Looks good! So how to make it look a little more aggressive...
- A BB lift and 31's can really improve the look.
- DO NOT do angry eyes (one of the dumbest things ever thought of).
- Save up for a set of BFG A/T's. They're a good compromise tire (great wear rating, decent offroad, good on road manners) and will help give the XJ a "tougher" look.
Just a couple thoughts.

The wheels and tires on her now are canyon wheels from an 06 tj with 30x9.5 tires, I sold my original wheels and tires for $40, and only paid $80 for the wrangler wheels, so I only paid $40 for the wheels and tires, they really make such a difference with the looks

I don't know if it's just an xj thing, or if I'm just crazy, but I feel like my xj doesn't have a very "solid" feeling. Especially because of the wimpy roof, but I guess I'm just crazy

I guess that feeling of not being "solid" comes from me knowing that there's some rust underneath my xj. Any tips for working on rust underneath?

On tropic, I think that XJ's with tinted windows look much nicer than XJ's without. I'm going to tinting mine when it gets warmer. Not exactly making it look more aggressive, but making it look cleaner!

I get the same feeling sometimes. I think everything will feel much better once I get some frame stiffeners on though! Check ebay for tint kits...they make them pre-cut and it's super easy to do. I did mine, but did it from a roll, made my own templates, cut everything out, and applied. Took about an afternoon. I went with 5%, but in retrospect if I were to do it all again, I would get the pre-cut kit, and 20% tint. The 5% is a tad too dark and hard to see out the back at night, only when backing up, though. It's fine for normal driving.
