Default Locker Guru's Help a brotha out

ok so i have never had lockers in my previous 2 jeeps, but the jeep i just bought has lockers front and rear, with 4.56 gears and 33" tires.

anything i need to know about the difference in turning? or running in 4-hi? 4-lo?

also, this is my DD and i am wondering if the 4.56s will be more economical with the 33"s or if i throw some 35"s on there instead.

any input greatly appreciated.

stay classy my friends.

Depends on type of locker. With a lunch box locker it will be hard to turn in 4wd on pavement but not to bad off road. They also can make clicking sounds and chirp your tires. You are totally fine to take them on the street but drive smart.

Don't use 4wd on pavement and you'll be fine. My 4.56s were perfect for my 33s, good for my 35s and suck with my 38s.

be careful using your 4wd on snowy roads now, it will take some time getting used to them.
you will notice a difference on the trail for turning radius, you may need to do some three point turns. sometimes it will be easier to just take it out of 4wd on the trail to make a turn.

take your time with it, and you will learn just how useful and fun they (lockers) can be.

just a note, easy on the throttle while reversing in 4wd, especially when the wheels are turned.

you do have a better than d35 in the back, i assume...

Anybody prefer 35s over 33s when running 4.56 gears?
