My old front bumper, made from 6" c channel aluminum.
My new unfinished front bumper, made from an old hitch, plated down the unibody with 1/4".
My rear made from 2x4 hitch steel, ridiculously strong.

my 3/8" 3x6 bumper with 1/4" frame mounts and gussets
welded a hitch THRU the bumper for a tug point
not to bad
and it gets used
