dude that really blows, and srry that the view and wild life were the only good things about Canada,,,
sadly there are a lot of rough parts in Van and the justice system in B.C. is crap...
I hvnt noticed anyone on this forum that lives out that way but il post up on B.C.jeepclub's forum your predicament and someone can hopefully return your zj.

well its the middle of nowhere so i wasnt holding my breath on someone from bcjc to live out there right off the bat and find my post.. but it was suggested to me that it could have been impounded, if that's happened youd need to pay a towing and storage fee and they will only hold it (if no one claims it) for 90 days and then the car is legaly the storage companies..
now phoning the local (local ya that sounds like a joke out there) rcmp they should have a record of it being towed... to prove its been abandoned on the side of the road they have to wait 2 weeks before someone can legally touch it too. but if it was towed a rcmp branch should be able to point you in the direction of either another (more local) rcmp branch or to the towing company or storage company who has it..
now this is all a what IF it got towed, but if it was and your willing to pay the towing and storage fees your zj still has hope of being found...
now iv got to go to work right now so I don't have time to look up the rcmp in the phone book to give you a starting point right now.

IMHO, you were woefully unprepared and unequipped to make that trip. too much weight for the ZJ, not knowing exactly how to get where you were going, no tools to fix your truck because something will always go wrong driving an old rig that far, AND you were towing. and i never in my life would have ever gone down a dirt road in ****ing middle of nowhere canada with a trailer
that being said, seems like you had a badass time. i know if i had my gf's car on a dolly or any trailer down that road i'd either be dead or wishing i was by the time we got back to pavement. still cant believe you just left the poor ZJ there but oh well. i would have dumped the dolly and limped the jeep out on its rear.. it was shot anyway.
good luck up in alaska.
