Yeah, it's a shame it works that way.

No free healthcare here. That'd be nice. That's currently the only thing I'm in debt with... medical bills.

Man that sucks about your ZJ. I hear you on the V8 side but not surprised to see a D35 or D44a just puke like that. It's a shame they didn't come with real axles, that's probably the reason it failed. Dragging a Jetta down a gravel road shouldn't have been such a problem.

Anyway how long ago was this? If it was very recent you might put a word out with some of our members in BC, someone might be able to zip up some D35 parts for ya, or at least keep an eye out for the Jeep.

it had the D44. it was more than a gravel road, not crazy just a lot of big potholes. are there many canadians on here? that would be cool...i have no idea if its still there or not. Off why 37 near Iskut...ish. I would be so happy to get my jeep back but i feel its a lost cause now

You still haven't said how long ago it was.

How long of a drive is it back to the Jeep? Are you not going back to get the stuff you left at the hunting lodge?

oh ya. I was about June 1st that we left it, bout 1200 miles from Anchorage. the people at the lodge were great, since they get people coming through on their way to alaska all the time they are trying to get someone to take our stuff in their RV... no luck yet. we'll probably have to drive back down eventually to get the rest of our crap. Wish i could have gotten my jeep to the lodge, then i could take an axle with me and bring the jeep back...

Right, that's what I've been thinking this whole time.

I believe I would have drug the rear axle 30 miles down the road.

How'd you get the dolly to the lodge?

Wow.. that's an insane road trip. I dont think I'd have to ***** to go drive up a muddy gravel road in the Cdn mountains towing a Jetta.

Didn't they have a paved road to Alaska? Or were you all feeling adventurous? Those are some great pics up there. Beautiful country.

ya we were supposed to be on a paved road...but when the gps took us on a dirt road for an hour or so it didn't seem too far off the beaten path...but by the time dirt road turned into a forest service road it was too late to turn back. it was pretty scary driving through literally the middle of nowhere canadian mountains. had to cross a few sketchy bridges too haha
