You are correct many people have lost all courtesy when dealin with anyone.

However, wether it be holding a door for someone or lending a helping hand to a stranger, I really don't care if they say thank you or stay quiet.

At the end of the day I did this kind gesture for me not for the person. I did this kind gesture because I think its the right thing to do.

I feel like you can't let people change how you are because they don't appreciate you. Is it nice, of course does it happen often when someone says thank you, not really. I will continue to hold doors, help, be nice because I like it and it fits me. Besides, if we stop there won't be anyone left.

Yes the internet and Text Messaging have almost destroyed social skills and even carrying on a conversation with others. Many have difficulty with trying to convey an idea or problem much less spell or grammar as we see here everyday. Its very sad that our tax dollars go to schools which produce this, because the government says they have to.

I answered a guy's (easy) question on here yesterday and he didn't even acknowledge my existence. I don't expect him to pay pal me anything but a simple thanks would have sufficed.

Our public school system produces cell phones and the internet? LOL

Its the same reason people were ****ty in the 30s, the 50s, the 70s, the 90s, and now. Their parents teach them values and most of what they learn.

Edited because the situation I was writing about had nothing to do with this forum. An open rant, not aimed at anybody at all but myself.

I'm not so sure it's all bad. Every time I've been PM'd it's been by good people and it always ends up being a good conversation gotta give some credit where credit is due, there's still plenty of good people out there
