I watched it almost all day. I have a feeling next year the video work will be even better. I think the Poor Boy Racing team had a few issues. They ran out of fuel on the first lap. From what I could tell about the pit work I think they ripped off the motor mount bracket from the block and that cause the fan to go through the radiator. They were putting a new rad in and also had a strap around the motor my guess to hold it up so they could finish the race. The white XJ that flopped got it back on 4 wheels rather quickly.

Oh that was the Poor Boy XJ in the pits? Ill have to go check out his build thread. I really liked that XJ and was wondering wtf went wrong with it.
I tried to watch as much as possible but I just got bored. The camera work was pretty terrible too so hopefully it gets better. Maybe that's why I got bored idk. They made it seem like there was only 4 or 5 vehicles and just kept the cameras on them. Like that yellow one (wrangler i think?) that got stuck and needed to winch out..they focused way too much time on an idle vehicle lol.
What was Currie driving btw? I missed his finish.

Yes they were in the pits for a little while. Currie was in a buggyish rig. It looked like a Scrambler style look to it. The video work wasn't bad for live in tge dessert. The helicopter videos will be sick when edited. I'm sure madram11 and bustedknuckle productions will have some good footage when it's over.

Sorry to revive a zombie thread, but ya we were there...and finished outside of the time limit unfortunately by about 1.5 hrs. But hey, we FINISHED our FIRST trip out racing KOH!
The fuel issue was due to a breather problem...so when we would fill up it LOOKED like we were full, but that wasnt the case. In reality, we were full of air and not fuel. We got that issue handled.
We also lost a motor mount which did put the fan into the radiator. We swapped the radiator which made a lot of the highlight footage and was also played live quite a bit from what we've heard. The rad was swapped and the motor was strapped down for a bit...til the strap came loose, but we finished it without the strap and didnt run into any other issues. The jeep faired pretty well overall by the end of the race! Thanks for following us guys...I am going to post some more pics over in the Build thread on here, so go check it out!
