Jk is a way better platform....it has a FRAME! Only downside of a Jk is that it has a minivan engine.

The 4 door JK is the new XJ with a damn frame.

Its basically just a Cherokee called a Wrangler with Wrangler looks.

Besides, its a damn Jeep. Who the eff cares?!?

Honestly, I was thinking about selling my XJ, and TL and buying a brand new JKU. Out of the box, JK would be better. Frame, & coil springs all the way around. I'll wait a couple of years, when the 2012's are being sold used, and pick one up. Don't want to buy a brand new JKU and never take it offroad because i'd be scared to scratch it.

It's unfortunate they did away with the 4.0. However for 2012 they ditched the 200 hp 3.8 V6 and upgraded to a 285 hp 3.6 V6. Much better engine.

I hate the circle headlights, looks light someone shot the front with a deer slug and threw in a pair of headlights. I have thought this about Libertys too since I was 10 years old(hated the front end since I same them when I was 8).

JK is WAY better except for the damn minivan engine. More ground clearence and stronger axles for one.

It's just to electronic for me, if you're in a desert cool, but i live 2000 miles away from the desert, I'm out sinkin my jeep in 4 feet of water and mud, and beatin the living **** out of it, I just don't see a jk standing up to the kinds of things I expect from a jeep.

Give me the the cash to buy a used rubi, and I won't do it. I'll use that cash to build a way better xj. Xj's aren't as common as jk's around here, therefore way cooler (to me). I appreciate the new wrongler with the pentastar..but...I'm just not THAT guy.

No, it's definitely not. It is, however a HUGE improvement over the sluggish 3.8 they had in there previously. 200hp to 285hp is a pretty big jump.

Indeed.

I love the JK and if i could afford it I'd probably buy one over the XJ, it the 4 door variety. Its just a better stock vehicle for bombing around trails. for a harcore wheeler I'd spend the money on a TJ better equipped.

Crappy wheel base.

But I love my wife's 98 TJ.

Thing is a BLAST in the snow. Drifting is just too easy. Its better than my XJ with a selectable rear locker!
