Thing is a BLAST in the snow. Drifting is just too easy. Its better than my XJ with a selectable rear locker!
I agree. I was trying to decide between an XJ or a TJ. I test drove a TJ, and wasn't comfortable with the short wheelbase. That was just on road too, I couldn't imagine trying to take one offroad. I test drove a JKU, and that wheelbase was perfect. One day i'll have one.

The AEV set up has a hemi, but of course, that's not factory. Personally, the only factory JK I'd get would be a 4 door Rubi. Otherwise, no thanks. I'd still take my XJ though. I just like it better. I would however love to have an AEV Brute.

I'd still take the XJ. Better cargo capacity, better passenger capacity, better wheel base, 4.0/AW4/NP231 drivetrain set up.....shall I keep going?

With a tj you can still have the 4.0, aw4, and np231,
And wheel base is not important until you start crawling hills and rocks.

The only 4 speed auto in TJ's was the 42RLE, not the AW4.
The wheelbase is important. I didn't buy my Jeep to stay in the pavement.

I like the look of the JKs, but too many of them look like they never see dirt, mud, or anything. A jacked up Cherokee looks more likely to go off road than a jacked up JK. That's not saying I wouldn't own one. It'd just have to be muddy all the time, and get some trail damage on it.

I'd love to have a jk. but I won't wheel something i'm making payments on. unfortunately I don't have 40k to drop on one. So I'll just keep building my cherokee.

Exactly this! If I had a ton of money, i'd build one and wheel the hell out of it. Unfortunately that's far from the case.

When I buy a NEW Jeep it will be a JKU Rubicon

My next used Jeep will be another YJ, or a CJ7

I'm strongly considering making my XJ's roof removable, and adding an internal cage. I'd much rather have a fun, unique Jeep rather than a JKU off the floor.
