hey so i have a set of 5 jk tires that are 32 inches in my garage from my dads car, they're the tires from 2013, and i was going to get an adapter and a 4.5" lift to fit them on my car.. but i'm seeing that people are using 3.5s so i'm wondering what the best lift for these tires would be? and would it be a bad idea to use an adapter if i plan on doing offroading? thanks

Those tires are 4 yrs old now at the least check the date code on them and check for any weather checking before installing them.
As for lift height it all depends on how much you are willing to trim the fenders and the wheels used with them.

He doesn't have the 2013 idk what year its a 2015 or something but ive seen them referred to as 2013 tires, and he barely ever used em he lifted his car almost right away but before i put em on ill look at them to make sure everythings okay
and on the lift will a 4 inch fit? i'm taking it to a shop to have the lift put on so fender trimming doesn't really affect me that much, just wondering if a 3.5 would be better or a 4 or 4.5

Your talking about going 3.5 inches or higher of lift right? Your gonna need an adjustable trackbar, brake lines, possibly longer sway bar links, you will probably need to do an sye or the case drop as well. You can't just put a lift on and call it done. Like Fred likes to say "the lift is the cheapest part."
Lift 3 inches or more and adapters since the jk is a different lug pattern,Honestly i won't ever run a adapter on any car i own seen a few fail and no thanks. As like said are you sure the tires are still good and checked the date code on them ?

If you're looking to fit the JK rims on an XJ (not sure if you're planning to do that or not), you'll need an adapter... the XJ has a 5x4.5 bolt pattern, and the JK has a 5x5 bolt pattern. Some spacers *may* be enough to be able to allow enough clearance for 32"'s to fit. If you go that route, don't bother buying one of those "Budget Boost" lift kits, as I've heard they're not very good... you'd be wasting money when you can get spacers for cheaper.
