So my '00 Cherokee will not start. Was running fine last night, Haven't driven it all day, went to go get a bite to eat and it wouldnt start. All my electronics come on still and when you turn the key you can hear it trying to turn over but the engine does not come on at all. Any Ideas?

 

Does it turn over or do like a click sound with nothing from the engine?

 

It sounds like it normally does when i go to start it the engine just never fires up. All my gauges come on too.

 

Can you hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds when you turn the key on?

 

X2 The ASD relay should run the fuel pump for about 5-8 seconds every time the key is cycled. I would check for spark and fuel pressure.

 

Whats a fuel pump sound like?

Its kind of a whine sound, from the rear of the vehicle. You should be able to hear it for a few seconds after you turn the key to the "on" position.

 

Oh, Yeah. It makes that sound still.
