So I am wondering if I am the only one with this problem, in junk yards and such i seem to see this as a common issue from about 86-92? and I have an 88 jeep Cherokee.. that to be honest i bought it for less than a new set of tires, motor and all the metal its worth..but i love my little Swiss cheese of a jeep

the day we got it fully we noticed it sat outside in the drive way..
and well water got in because we had to fix the seals but when you drive..
in a small amount of water the carpet ended up soaked,
so a box cutter and bleach later, carpet is gone and mold is everywhere
(-_-) along with holes of rust that the next week my mechanic stuck his foot through while driving..
um.. so.. i have bonus air vents for up the leg and for toes and such but im to the point that i dont know if i need a whole new floor pan or not.
its bad enough and in bad enough of places for the welding process to be too worrisome to care about but i dont know if anyone else had this problem and what they did about it and or if someone found floor pans for cheap
... or other ways to "deal with it"

 

 

its just coming down to the fact that its a joke that if you wanna ride you better have your tetanus shot updated

 

If it's that bad, replace 100% or just get a new Jeep

Definitely seen worse...how much worse has it gotten, other than putting a foot through the floor? LOL...hard to tell from those pics, but the back looks to be alot of surface rust, clean it up and patch any small areas and coat it with POR15, for the fronts, you can get replacement pans, cut out the old and weld in the new, coat with POR15....again, without seeing any better pics, that's the best advice I got for ya. What I would be worried about though, is the rust you CAN'T see, like all underneath and in the uniframe.
