Jeep Alignment
Hey I was wondering where would be the best, most affordable place/shop to get an alignment shop, or where do you guys usually go to get you jeep xj aligned? I put on a 4.5" lift on 33x12.5" mickey thompson tires i bought an adjustable track bar from IRO but was wondering if the place i get it aligned would install it for me? or would it be better to spend the time to put it on and then get it aligned? thanks

Whatever you do, do NOT do this.
This is fine for lining up the steering wheel once in a while, but when it comes to getting an accurate toe, and accurate caster (can't even touch camber without adjustable ball joints), don't even get your hands dirty with it.

I'm lucky and have a great group of guys at my local Tires Plus. Very knowledgeable and I've spent countless hours talking with them. I'm getting my newly lifted Jeep aligned there tonight. They offer a 3 year unlimited mile alignment for $150 or so. Money well spent in my book. I would go to a couple of shops and just chat with the techs. You can get a good feel for their knowledge with lifted vehicles.

You're creating more problems than you know. Tire wear is a beginner's knowledge of understanding when it comes to alignments. Alignments are important for so many different things.

McGee auto and tire recently had a special for $69.99 alignments, but I'm sure it's over now. I just had an alignment last week or so there.
I don't see the problems. Measure the back of the front tires, one to another, measure the front and go from there. It isn't a vehicle with independent front suspension where you have to have the camber and stuff adjusted
