^^^Wrong.

There are several adjustable angles that affect wheel alignment; camber, caster and toe.

Alignment adjusts the wheels to travel at a precise 90-degree angle to a flat, level road surface, and exactly parallel to the long axis of the vehicle.

You can't adjust the camber on a Cherokee. Am I correct?

You can adjust anything. Adjustable control arms allow you to adjust caster, adjustable ball joints or shims allow you to adjust camber.

Factory ball joints can wear out, when they wear out, they're not so straight anymore, that affects camber. Bent axles or knuckles can also affect these things.

Your toe-in and toe-out measurements with a tape measure aren't as precise as an alignment machine can get. Also, many shops offer warranties for their alignments to where if you get out of alignment after a certain amount of time, they'll align it again for free within the warranty period. Tire Kingdom near me does this.

Do you not know anything about solid axles? Unless you have adjustable ball joints, you can't adjust the camber. You can replace the ball joints if they're bad and that will help with camber but if you have factory ball joints then you can only adjust caster. Not camber

They're not struts. Everybody knows that. Okay, we can move on from that. I told you all of the scenarios where these things can be adjusted.

It doesn't give you any credibility for telling anyone to do an alignment in their driveway. That's horrible advice and will lead to problems down the road.

We are here to offer useful advice – something that will actually lead to good results for the inquirer. Not to tell them how to do a redneck alignment that'll go out in a week. Do it right.

OK dick. I'm not a redneck. I simply suggested a free way of doing it. I drove over a year on driveway alignment with zero issues but each their own I guess

I do all of mine with a tape measure.

Did all of my medium and heavy duty tow trucks that way also. No problemos.

X2... I did a drive way alignment..had it at 1/8" toed in....thought I was good to go...3k miles later I'm re buying expensive mt tires for the front... $350 lesson learned. Do yourself a favor and let them put it on there fancy machine. I've got around 2k miles on the new ones and they barely have any wear. I paid $90 for the alignment and wouldn't hesitate to do it again

Should have set it at 0 to 1/32".....

Takes 2 people to do it properly, and a FINE line scribed all around both tires.

Without those 2 things, it's easily messed up.

That's why. And, it's a good point, and not because it's mine...LOL.

2 people are needed with no distractions. My neighbor got angry with me when I cursed at his dog who was licking my face while trying to set the toe. Who needs that?
