very true. but it's amazing what a nice set of wheels and large tires can do to a rig like that.

If I had the money I would buy it for a project. I'm sure its probably a collectors item and could bring some big bucks if it were done right. I agree a lift and tires would make it look sweet. I would even go as far as trying to get a wrangler drive train and engine for it. By the way this is the number for a jeep wrangler near lock haven PA that has a rusted out frame and body but relatively low miles on a 4.0 and 5 spd. 570-367-9457.
I travel for work and miss out on a lot of good deals because of it. As soon as possible I'm gonna get a 1 ton van or truck just so I can pull a trailor if I need to and so I can start building on my grand cherokee.
By the way there is a cherokee on the cleveland craigslist with a 6" lift and supposedly good tires that is broke down but for sale for cheap.
