i agree but you should buy according to what you want. if you want 32" of lift and tires as big as a cherokee buy a monster truck, if you want gas mileage dont buy a gas gussling suv buy a 4cylinder min van. if you want a lifted cherokee dont expect great gas milage

I'm not trying to come off rude so if i am sorry, but the only way to really get better gas milage out of a vehical people aint willing to do. they are more willing to do stuff that gives you worse gas milage (bigger tires, lift kit, added weight) then they get on forums and complain about not getting good mpg
I bought a 6cyl 4.0L engine and not a V8 Jeep for a reason

A couple paragraphs or more? Are we doing your home work for you?

I'm just curious are we originally talking about a zj or an xj. My stock xj fills up about 18 gallons and I can do about
230-260 miles depending on my driving but I hit alot of traffic coming and going from work but honestly I love my jeep and bad gas mileage is part of the package.

If you wanna keep decent mileage routine maintenance and an easy foot will go far.

Just filled my tank today after making sure I drove easy during the week and used my cruise control as much as possible, I got 18.7 mpg! That is 1.2mpg better just by adjusting my driving habbits.

jeeps hate city... with passion... sometimes i get 13-14 mpg in the city in my green one, and i still get over 20 on the highway...
my blue one gets about 14.5 in the city and i've had as high as 23+ on the highway. but i only work 2-3 miles from the house and can't even get to 40 mph in city traffic.

Mine get about 12 in the winter, and14 in the warmer weather. Just drove to Commiedelphia down the turnpike, and got about 22. I have 30"x9.5",and 3.55 gears. I don't have cruise, so I have to work the throttle myself. I don't spare the loud pedal though. My '98 sees 4000 RPMs on a regular basis. I'm the old guy that passes you on the curve, or across the double line. " When in doubt, GAS IT "
