Jeep never sold one, I've never seen one.
Somebody might have built one, I guess.

We went wheeling with some Wrangler folks in Moab. One guy wanted an XJ. He said about a 92 or so before they all went to uni body. You get silly stuff like that every once in a while. I would like to see the pic tho. haha

The only way she could possibly have IFS on a Cherokee is if she lives in Europe. The Jeep Liberty is marketed and sold as a Cherokee there.

i agree with every one else....no such thin as IFS on ANY jeep sold in 2001 or before..jeep never went to IFS until the liberty in 2002. so you can tell him that from the 1940s to 2001, every jeep had solid axles...every production jeep that is...jeep messed around with some concepts if memory serves me right, that had IFS but none of them went into production until 2002

naah, he said it looks just like mine. i personally think that he just wanted to get into a jeep conversation and just got in a little above his head. he said some stuff that he couldn't take back, so he just decided to back it up. there are 2 cherokee guys in my unit, i'm one of them. the other guy has a grand and we exchange information and help each other out all the time. other guys wanna get into the conversation but don't know enough about the breed most of them just don't know what a jeep thing is.

Is that like the guy that approached my friend and I as we were doing a bit of general maintenance and said his Dodge Dakota was "basically the same thing" as the XJ? I really wanted to smack him.

Some people have trouble telling vehicles apart. The 1991-1994 Ford Explorer does look similar to the XJ. I can easily tell the difference, but not everybody can. The truth is some people just don't really care. But if he's trying to mistake a '95+ Explorer as an XJ, he needs his eyes checked.

I owned a '94 Explorer, Their front IFS suck. Eat up tires. But Here's a site ( http://www.xjjeeps.com/com_xjjeeps/t...section=2&ID=0 ) that has OEM Mopar-Jeep parts catalogs. For all years, You can show him they where never used.

the cards are in. it's not ifs. he ate his words. and i forgot to tell y'all that 2 more people had joined in this argument telling me that they have seen one. one of those people (who is kinda known for lying here and there) ended up saying that he was just yanking my chain to see how far the argument will go (BS), and another one (known as the biggest liar in the company) is still arguing that there's an ifs XJ. he says he works for advance auto and they have a listing for a CV shaft for 2000 cherokee. he showed me the page and i told him that it's wrong. and he tried to argue with me that advance auto knows more about XJs than i do.

Something tells me Advance Auto doesn't know more about XJs than the collective experiences and knowledge available on this forum.

Some 84-86 cherokees had CV shafts, but still with solid axle.
