If Your XJ Got hit...
Well I almost got hit from the side today. A car was pulled over in the fire lane in front of a store and I started to go around them, but they went ahead and pulled out as well. Almost hit my side.
How defensive are you of your Jeep and what would you do if you got hit? Let’s get a “If my XJ got hit I would…” thread.
I'll start. If my XJ got hit I would run to the junk yard and start replacing stuff.

Depends. My front bumper I think can withstand a decent hit. The rear would be fine too. Any severe hit in the side not on the doors would be game over

Well if it was my fault, i would say sorry and do what you said, replace parts from the junk yard.
If it was the other's fault, i would need a new MagLite.

Brother was rear ended by a blazer in mine. The blazer was totaled, ripped the bumper off and my hitch went through his radiator. My hatch was jammed. Took a screwdriver to it and it still opens fine.

My first XJ got totaled when a lady pulled out in front of her. Both front drivers wheel caught and stopped them. My XJ was totaled as the whole front end was moved right several inches. That afternoon I started searching for another. It took me almost three months to find one that I could afford with what the insurance company would give me. I got to keep my totaled XJ for $150.00. At least I've got lots of spare parts. My daughter (driving) and son were not hurt (thank goodness) but a passenger in the other vehicle got a trip to the hospital.

If my XJ got rear ended, it wouldn't be pretty. My rear bumper is that cracked aluminum foil type so I covered it in duct tape. I got a brush guard going on the front so hopefully that protects the front. If it got hit in the rear passenger doors, probably just leave messed up since I don't use the rear seat.
Luckily I haven't been in an accident yet. Average person has one every ten years.

I forgot, i actualy was hit once. Some twit in a Toyota sedan was tailgating me on snowy roads. I stopped at a stop sign, with my brand new 31/10.5 tries. They didn't.
lol, like KTM, not a scratch on my Jeep, almost took out the cars radiator with my hitch. Oh and the kicker, they didn't have insurance. Thank god nothing broke!

Depends on how hard it was hit and where it was hit. Both my bumpers and my hatch are already screwed up, so I wouldn't care if they got torn up. Front fenders are torn up too, and trimmed, so that's no big deal either. I guess as long as its still driveable, and the unibody isn't tweaked, I don't care if it gets hit.

I got rear ended like a month after i bought my '97. It was very hard to stay quiet because if i said what i wanted to, things wouldn't have ended very well. Only made it better when i found out he had no insurance, pulled the no speak english card, then insurance poured salt in the wound by not covering me. But what i would do if i got hit, well first thing take my phone and get pictures of their plates, that way if they decide to leave they wont get far. Still dont help the fact that my immaculate '97 country has unibody damage...
