i found dana35 and dana30

Default i found dana35 and dana30

well i just moved to a new house and found a dana35 and dana30 out of a pre 91 xj(had front vacuum disco) and i want to find out the gear ratio in them,how do i do that? and a perk with them is the front axle had a pro comp steerin stablelizer(or however you spell it)

Pull the covers and find where the ratio is stamped into the ring gear, or count the teeth on the ring and pinion gears and divide the drive gear (pinion) into the driven gear (ring gear) and you will come up with the ratio.

the ring gear said m35 411,does that mean i have 4.11 gears?

They could be 4.11s

Not all but most ring gears will have either the gear ratio stamped on it or two 2 digit numbers like this XX XX and you can divide those into each other and it will give you the gear ratio.

ok,i will do that tomorrow,i took the front diff cover and found a front locker!!!!!!
i cant wait to take em apart tomorrow and start workin on the ole jeep

yea,im thinkin of swapin the ring and pinions from the ones i found so that i have 4.11's,and swap the front locker for my open d30 carrier,i have a lsd d35 now so i DONT want to swap rear ends to an open d35

i found out its spicer 4.11 gears and a aussie locker up front

You would be better off swapping the whole axle instead of just the gears.

If you swap the hears you will have to set them up. There is more to it than just swapping the gears. But awsome find.
