I'm 16 and got an xj as a first vehicle.
Gas is going up and I'm getting 8 miles to the gallon.
I don't think I can drive it anymore.
I'm thinking of trading it for something better on gas.

It hurts me to even think of this :'(
I wish I could just keep the jeep as a rig and buy something different but I can't.

I drive 20 miles to school and back every week day.
I'm having to fill my tank every week it's to much

Someone please help with what I should do

But i bet you could do it if you keep trying you could do it ive got 2 kids wife and work and fill up 2 cars and find a way to feed my habit and im the only income

I drive my ZJ 70 miles a day, pay about 140 bucks a week for gas. Still cheaper than a car payment.

 

8MPG sounds unreasonable. what size tires are you running? you should regear, tune up, whatever

You should be getting better than 8 mpg, somethings wrong maybe tuneup or oxygen sensor. Im 17 and use mine as a dd back and fourth to school and all but im getting like 14-15 mpg

 

Do a tune up if you can. You could actually over inflate your tires for less rolling resistance, they will wear kinda funny, but better MPG.

Around here, you can pick up a beat to **** honda for a couple hundred bucks. That might be an option to look into.

Gas is only going to go up! Think about getting a 4 cylinder beater, or even a motorcycle.
