Default I am waiting for Magic to happen. . . I installed E3 plugs!

Did an extensive tune up today. Cap, rotor, wires, 02 sensors, cleaned IAC valve and some other stuff. The plugs I used were E3. More out of curiosity than commitment, since they are so controversial.

Anyone else try them?

They are supposed to give you warp speed and 60 mpg, or something like that.

If I encounter drama, I will let you all know.

I KNOW that they are junk just by looking at them. Knowing what spark plugs are meant to do and what the ideal form of their function should look like is enough to know that the E3 design can't possibly provide the ideal spark.

If you want to do something to improve your spark situation, the ideal setup would look something like this:

Copper single electrode plugs indexed and side-gapped to 0.050". A stronger coil and wires (e.g. MSD coil and Magnecore KV85) are necessary for this large gap to be reliable.
The above configuration provides a strong, reliable spark with the minimum amount of crowding to maximize flame kernel generation. The downside is that the copper will have to be checked and regapped more often. I've personally compromised and used iridium instead of copper--I've traded conductivity for durability.

Keep the gap set to 0.035" if you're using a stock ignition.

These look like a variation on "snake oil" multi-electrode plugs that have been around since at least the 1950s.

Like I said, if there is drama, I will let you all know!

(What if they really are magic!)

They're a gimmick.

Whenever you install those gimmicky plugs there is an improvement. You needed spark plugs, rotor, cap and wires!!

Then, the mind thinks the "magic" was worth it and you become a follower.

I've been on the dyno with Champions versus Splitfires and lost 28 rear wheel horsepower with the ****fires..

That's my point. Everyone's got an opinion on something they never tried. I'm a skeptic too. But at least I am using them to find out.

It's one thing to look a the girl in the window and have an opinion. Its another thing to pay your money and go upstairs.

Well, if you are serious, put in NGK's.

If you want to field test some of the crazy stuff out there, take your pick: Bosch +4, E3, Splitfire, or what were the ones Han Solo used in the Millennium Falcon?

Yup. I've never had an NGK plug fail on me in 45 years.
