Hydro-Turf
Just finished welding up my front floors so now its time to finish the job...scrapped the carpet, but raw metal is kinda rough when your driving 4 hours towing a trailer (lots of heat and noise through the firewall and trans tunnel).
So, since i have a couple jetskis ive studied the mat they use in the foot tray. Its a nice thick EVA foam. Should work nicely for what im doing, the mat itself is 1/4" thick, plus the 5/16" of underpad for a little extra.
hydro-turf is waterproof, which will make for easy mud hose-out, much more durable than carpet, and more comfortable and effective than bedliner, though i will be putting down a coat of bedliner first.
as well as doing the floors im doing my shot door panels, and eventually the headliner as well. BUT turf is expensive, so a little at a time.

i ordered grooved swamp camo for the floors, and diamond cut black for the door panels. should look sawheet.

We'll see how it turns out, I plan on leaving the bottom piece removable, this way any water that should get behind it can dry out instead of rot the new floor.

Drain plugs? I pulled the big plug out of mine when I pulled the carpet because it was leaking pretty badly when I washed the undercarriage. The smaller plugs go into the unibody rails if i'm not mistaken. I like this idea. I absolutely hate carpet but yet I still have it because i've been to lazy to bedline lol. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Happy to report after a 45 minute drive the cab is much quieter, as for temperature, the trans tunnel there is easily a 30* difference between just Bedliner and a single layer of Turf, up by the firewall the turf is warm, but nowhere near as hot as the firewall normally is, and that is with the extra layer of foam under the turf.
