Best state for lift kits
What is the best state for jeep mods and huge ridiculously lifted trucks. I'm tired of Maryland laws and not being able to even have my tires stick out past the fenders. I'm not moving anytime soon just curious. I want to be able to legally drive something on 54s around lol

Nc has pretty lenient laws when it comes to lifted vehicles. I have heard you need special permission if you go above 6" but I've never heard of anyone doing this.

Florida you can drive down the street with 5 ton axles and 60" tires and nobody will say anything
Infact the "Kraken" jk gets driven on the street around here with 54s

NJ seems pretty lenient. The biggest I've seen is a 7.3 Ford F250 on 44s and like 9" of lift or something that my stepbrother's friend had. He never got pulled over or anything. I know that you're not supposed to have tires that stick out or super tall lifts, but the only Jeep related thing that's gotten me pulled over is once I got really muddy and hadn't yet cleaned my Jeep. Cop was a nice guy, just wanted to make sure I could see okay so I wouldn't put anyone in danger.

Florida. All you need is two rear facing mirrors and a front bumper. I have regularly seen trucks on 54's driving down here on there way to the beach!
Take a look at http://www.liftlaws.com/index.htm Florida has a max bumper and headlight heights and so does some states. Most don't go by a lift size because its gonna be a different height from one truck to another one.

California has no lift laws that seem to get enforced..there is a whole formula based on weight for it, but I've seen idiotically huge lifts driving around all over, even in the silicon valley...and every other damn vehicle is some huge lifted truck in the valley or sierra foothills.
CA has mud flap laws which would seem to be the only way they could "get you", but about the only trucks I see with them are big rigs/trailers and toyotas--which have them from factory a lot of the time.
The law says the body, flares or flaps must stop spray--but I'm assuming unless a cop sees you flinging mud they can't really write you up. I've seen trucks with huge lifts and no mud flaps plenty of times
