Default How to soften the ride.

I was out at the dunes yesterday and hit some hard packed washboards. Needless to say my teeth were rattling. Any suggestions on what I can do to get the ride to soak up the bumps. Right now It has a 4" lift on it. I was told it was an old rancho lift have no idea the date or condition it was on the jeep when I got it.

Airing down will help, and so will good shocks.

Still running short arms with 4 inches of lift? Longer control arms will help soften the ride.

4 inches of lift with the stock arms will put the control arms at a steep angle and will transmit those bumps right into the chassis. Longer arms will lessen the angle and smooth out the ride. You could also use lower control arm drop brackets to smooth out the ride, but they hang low in harms way.
