Exclamation How to remove Tint??

today i thought i would take off my old bubbly tint, but when i did a tech of a blow dryer there was anouther layer of tint. Its almost impossible to take that 2nd layer off. Ive spent 3 hours scraping the passenger windows with a razer. Is there a cheaper way to take off the 2nd layer tint for the very back window, and that doesnt remove my defrosters?
This would help me so much if i can get a reply by tomorrow!
Thanks,
Joe

Once you start taking off the tint on the defrosters it does mess them up. No way around that problem.

Try a steamer. I know a lot of people who have used a steamer with great success.

I removed the film with a razor then used this stuff called Goo Gone to get the glue off. I haven't done the rear though because of the defroster. It took forever and was mind NUMBing but totally worth it.

i work at a tint/truck accories shop and our tinter uses soapy water and a black trash bag. he tapes the bag to the inside of the window and sprays some water in between the window and the bag then lets it sit in the sun to sweat the tint off.

I used to do tint about ten years ago. It's removed the same way it's installed, with watered down dish soap. Prefer Joy brand myself. Start at 1 corner, pull up the corner and start spraying the soapy water between the glass and tint. To get all the leftover glue off of the windows after tint is removed, liberally spray soapy water on areas in question and uses a sponge rag or brush( something that won't scratch or damage defrost) then use your choice of glass cleaner for final clean.

An ammonia based window cleaner works VERY well for removing the adhesive. Windex WITH ammonia. Just do it in a well ventilated area.

I steamed the old purple tint off of the back glass of my Trans Am. Took a while, but no abrasives like Brillo, or fumes like amonia.
