I mentioned in my introduction thread that Im brand new to the Jeep community and am really looking forward to chatting with you all about Jeep 'stuff'.I bought a 1998 Cherokee Sport 4 door and its only got 80000 klms(50000 miles).I do plan on dressing it up a bit, maybe wheels and tint etc.
As you can see its starting from a clean slate so skys the limit. Here in my neck of the woods it doesnt start to get cold till dec when the snow starts up so I do have time to get a few things done to it.

Welcome and congrats. Before you get lift happy and such, also do some minor maintenance to your girl to make sure she wasn't abused. Air filter, oil change, check granny fluid, diff fluid, TC fluid etc. Well be here every step of the way to help providing you listen to advice and criticism the same and do some noggin pokin and get dirty.
Don't spend a cent until you've given carefully thought to what kind of wheeling you plan on doing. Building a rock crawler that will only see dirt roads is a waste two very valuable things...time and money.

And welcome to C.F.
^^^^^^yup, listen to this guy (just a little, jk). When ready to build your jeep, you wanna determine what suits you.
Nice looking rig you have there! Nothing better than an unmolested XJ >
My advice is start small. Basic repairs and preventative maintenance come first over mods.
Here's an easy start. Get some plastic restore stuff and bring those faded gray plastic trim pieces and fender flares back to life.
And a trailer hitch! Whether you tow or not a hitch is very useful for recovery.
yuppers, gotcha covered on the hitch, its got a brand new one! As for the restore idea, thats a good one too.Im very particular when it comes to cleaning/polishing...heres a pic of my other ride.
2001 Mustang Bullitt . International show winner with original battery and original wishy washy fluid from 2001.The jeep may see a bit more driving time.hehe
