Long time Jeep Comanche owner, and new owner of 2021 Cherokee. Just wanted to share a picture of my friend's Cherokee. My friend bought it new in 1990 in Sacramento, California, and it is still running well with the original 4.0 engine and automatic transmission. It has a bit over 388,000 miles, and is still a daily driver. Except for a small ding that is rusted on the passenger door, the darn thing still looks good and runs well.
Typically more than 6 miles. Typically less than 3 million. Anywhere in between depends on how the person drives, how they maintain it, if they live near the sea or in the salt belt, etc. That is a pretty normal number you quoted. The most overlooked items on a "high mileage" vehicle are changing the trans fluid, diff oil, coolant, and brake fluid. "Civilians" don't even know you are supposed to change these items ever, much less on a schedule.

My Cherokee runs about 16 miles a day, M-F. I'm really impressed as its average time is quite fast. Possibly world record speeds to run that far. It only takes about 13 minutes to run the 16 miles. But it likes to stay in shape....
If I was going to run 16 miles, it would take me about 3 hours hahaha...
Now my refrigerator is a different story. That thing runs everyday, for about 6 minutes at a time. Talk about commitment.
I know... LOL... it was a service build XJ.... when I had the transmission serviced just when I got back state side and didn't have my own tools shipped over here yet.... they pulled the build sheet for it. And said it was a very unusual one... that was sayin' something from a shop that specialised in older 4WD's like XJ's... They said it looked like a combination between the Police service package and one for say Forest Service. Among the goodies that were not really found in the standard "civilian" edition... is the factory LSD in a D35. Not a common option... and especially in the wintertime... one of my favourites....lol ask me why
