New Cherokee Owner
Hey everyone. I just bought a 1999 XJ Classic yesterday. It's an automatic with 4-wheel drive. It has 105k miles on it. Very clean. I love jeeps and have been looking for a clean Cherokee for a long time. I've been around Jeeps all my life, just not the Cherokee. I've owned a Scrambler and my father owns one, so I know how dependable Jeeps are. I love the straight 6 in the Cherokee. Does anyone have any tips or advice for me? Thanks a lot.

Change fluids as Stryker says and check the belt and hoses. Grease everything and get under it and inspect everything you can see, exhaust, u-joints, brakes and then ask us any questions that came to mind during your inspection.

You've got a lot of fun coming your way. I definitely agree about changing all the fluids. Something which I still need to do (some of them). If it's not overheating or anything, bring it on the highway and see how it does. That's how I like to see how things are running. Just don't over-do it until you know how it handles / is running good.
