yeah man, under 150k is just a baby. 200k is just broken in. 300k is gettin there..

these things last forever if taken care of

i got a 95 with 140k and it runs like a tank, i trust that motor with my life lol

 

my 89 has 278,000 miles

 

i had a 1993, with 190k, ran perfect, started everytime

 

94, just rolled into 189k today. If its the 4.0L, if you baby it you will probably roll the odometer back to 0. :P

 

With any used vehicle its buyer beware. A newer model with less miles could possibly be in worse condition than an older model with 200,000+ miles, based on how people maintain them. Just see what the fluids look like before you buy listen for strange sounds and you or ur dad just make your best personal judgement, and if something does turn out bad with the jeep after you buy it. Then the part that we hate to love starts, FIXIN then BREAKIN then FIXIN and so on OH and i have 171,xxx on a 92

My son's '96 has 160,000.

One of my customers at a local quick lube is a Jeep guy.
Says he sees 4.0 Jeeps with well over 300,000, and never been torn down.

I hear "Timex" may have had input on the original design? LOL!!

 

'96 with only 87,000. I need to drive this thing a little more :-)

 

1987 with 189,000+ miles, and no rebuild, uses no oil, leaks very little, & she still runs like a top!! The 4.0, no matter the year, is an indestructible power plant, if maintained well!!

 

my 99 sport has 89k and runs good.

 

im goin to look at a 2000 sport tomorrow with 93,000 miles on it
