Jeep's not about getting there fast.
Jeep's about getting there period.
If you want to outrun a Ferrari, do it offroad.
I use the cruise control to keep the weight of my foot from getting me into trouble.
Edit:
<5 over in towns
<10 over on highways
Like a bat out of hell in big cities

As some people in here are saying (including myself)...it depends on what you're driving. I wouldn't be driving over 100mph (160km/h +) in my jeep...I don't even think my jeep will do that. The jeep is for (as Joe Green says) getting there period. Your Jeep is for going where other vehicles fear to tread. A jeep isn't made to go really freakin fast.

That is a bit to much bud.... If you have nothing nice to say dont say anything... This post should be shut down.

Alright, I'm tired of people repeatedly telling me the same things. I realize some of you are well-intentioned, and i appreciate that. Others, however, are just jumping at an opportunity to talk down to me. And judging me by my age because I recognized that I was being rude and changed my wording? Real nice. I'm just gonna stop responding to any of those posts. It's nothing personal against anyone. I'm not throwing a fit. It just wasn't the point of this thread.

I agree...you're thinking very narrow-mindedly, Jackup. Just because someone drives fast, doesn't mean they're bad drivers. If you don't think you're an experienced enough driver to go faster than the posted speed limit...good. That means you're mature enough to realize that but don't put someone down because they do drive fast without knowing their driving background. I've seen 17yo kids that can drive circles around all of us in their sleep. I would have no problem if they were driving fast as long as they're driving responsibly.

Those of you getting all angry, you have to realize the different driving enviroments people are driving in. Such as Georgia is mostly rural highways, where in other parts of the US it may be all highway with houses all around. Or may city mostly. Its all on the enviroment people. Roads arent the same all over, some places its a little safer to speed than in other places

Just my 2 cents. Take it how you please.

In town I do the speed limit, out of town usually 5-10 over. Fastest ever in my Jeep was roughly 110 (3,200 RPM in overdrive, speedo was pinned at 85)
Surprisingly was not scary like doing 80 is, the shakes kinda evened themselves out.

Though nothing is as scary as going 135 in a 1993 Yukon on hilly county road, my friend decided to see how fast we could get it going. It hit the speed governor, which is set at 135.

I usually do around 100 to 120 km/h on the highway, depending on the conditions and the traffic (which is usually non-existent where I live, although it can get somewhat thick when people go down to the States for holidays). The fastest I've ever had it was 180 km/h, right when I first got it, me and a couple buddies wanted to see what it could do. I've had bad experiences driving too fast for the conditions (my sister hit the ditch with me in the vehicle going to fast on a gravel road, flipped it and almost totalled it, as well as me hitting black ice this winter and spinning into the snowbanks at 90km/h) and I would rather not have any more of them.

Wipeouts tend to give you a better respect for speed and are the number one cause of clearer thinking on it.
They are also a good experience in a way (if no one is seriously hurt) ...they give you a little more insight into what happens in a full out accident...that can help you if similar future situations arise.
